The Random Kindness Community Resilience Project is intended as an inspiration and resource for community engagement, participatory planning and community organizing. Breakthrough Communities is merging the big-picture message in Random Kindness with local climate resilience action. We offer a variety of events to bring the Random Kindness book alive in your community!
Reading and Book Signing: Includes a reading of Random Kindness poem and Desmond Tutu’s foreword; background of the book; introduction to Community Resilience project and how to get involved; Q &A; and book signing.
Multimedia Presentation: Includes a multimedia presentation of Random Kindness poem and Desmond Tutu’s foreword, with an in-depth interactive exploration of current Community Resilience projects. Using arts and culture to link environmental and social justice issues on a global scale, we will reveal a larger context of interconnectedness for the great work of our time.
Workshop with Paloma Pavel and Carl Anthony: Breakthrough Communities Co-founders– clinical psychologist M. Paloma Pavel and environmental justice legend Carl Anthony– guide your group through a Community Resilience workshop, beginning with context in Deep Time, tracing community histories, using arts and culture to link environmental and social justice issues, and training in immediate action steps to build justice, sustainability, and resilience in your community. Tailored for your organization’s focus and experience.
